Volunteering

Volunteers are required to help out at the 2024 Harbury Beer Festival, our 31st, which is the Branch’s biggest public event of the year and requires support from our members to function successfully.

The Volunteer Staffing Form is available at the bottom of this page. We need volunteers to help set up and take down as well as working during the festival opening hours. Shifts available are on the form.

If you can only help for part of a session, add your availability in the comments box. Even a couple of hours during open times are a great help. We are also pleased to accept non-members help, so if any of your friends would like to help, even for a limited time, please forward the form to them.

Tasks will be allocated as required, and on a first-received basis. In open sessions it is not possible to guarantee work in one area but requests will be accommodated where possible. If there is a particular area you do not wish to (or cannot) work in please give details in the comments.

Training is mandatory for all volunteers and there will be a staff training session from 20:00-21:45 on Thursday 29 August so please make every effort to attend this session. Beer and cider tasting will be available for those attending and it is also a great opportunity to meet fellow volunteers. If you cannot attend please let us know in the comments or by email/text (see below) and arrive 20 minutes before your first working session for briefing purposes.

Please submit the form ASAP and by 31 July at the latest. When you submit the form a confirmation email will automatically be sent to you. Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the confirmation. If you have any questions please send an email to hbfstaffing@how.camra.org.uk.

If your circumstances subsequently change please let us know by email at hbfstaffing@how.camra.org.uk or call/text 07734 947036.

Staff incentives

  • A number of beer tokens per session worked.
  • An allocation of bottled beer to take home, depending on number of hours worked.
  • On Saturday, a £5 food allowance will be provided for those working two or more 3-hour shifts.
  • A free commemorative festival glass (subject to availability) will be issued to anyone who has worked on both Friday and Saturday (glass to be collected when leaving the festival on Saturday).

Transport Home

Transport home at the end of each evening session (Friday and Saturday) will be organised.
This will be free for those working at least 3 hours during the session, otherwise, a contribution may be required. The first taxi/minibus will run at approx. 23:45 after we have tidied up. To help us plan this service, please tick the box on the form below if you will definitely want transport home and ensure you provide the drop-off address. (If you ask for this service and then fail to work the minimum hours or not turn up without good reason, you may be charged.)

Post Festival Trip

Free transport will be provided for a post-festival trip, for example a visit to a beer festival or brewery.
