Keeping with our tradition of alternating between speciality and area themes, 2017 was an area theme. Beers featured were from Peak District and North Derbyshire supplemented by local beers.

BramptonJerusalemBitter4.6The rich and roasted malt notes defy the pale colour in this special bitter. Brewed as a one-off for St. George's day it went down so well it made a number of re-appearances since for significant national events, and has a great following in bottle. A traditional bitter-style ale, the pale colour defies a rich maltiness normally associated with a darker ale.
BramptonBrampton MildMild4.9Dark, roasted and jam-packed full of flavour. The characteristics change the longer it is allowed to condition for. Brampton Mild is not so much a meal in a glass as a 5-course banquet. Coffee, toffee and caramel tones tease your taste buds and warm your cockles.

Matlock Wolds Farm100ccBitter4.9American style Ale brewed using Maris Otter Barley and Dark Crystal malt. The beer is hopped with three C's: Chinook, Cascade and Citra. Chinook gives an intense bitterness, Cascade adds floral and fruity flavours and Citra is used at the end to give a characteristic tropical fruit aroma. The Dark Crystal malts add some rich caramel flavour to complement this.

Windmill HillChesterton IPAIPA4.2Chesterton IPA is a strong classic British Ale. Golden amber in colour, this well balanced beer consists of caramel, light fruits, and roasted malt hints. Made from Water, Pale Malts, Yeast and both Golding and Savinjski Golding hops. It is cask conditioned for at least two weeks to create the perfect British pint!

These methods are the same as used by cider makers over many centuries."
